Whitby School of Music offers lessons privately or in groups in nearly all instruments.  The school sponsors a number of recitals throughout the year, beginning with a “Carnival of the Animals” in the fall for young or beginning students.  “Candy-Cane” concerts are featured in December followed by the “Stars of Tomorrow” competition in the spring where students can win trophies, medals or prizes.  A series of Concerts is held in late June.  Students are encouraged to perform in a fun and supportive setting.

Whitby School of Music also supports a number of local music festivals and competitions and students are encouraged to enter as they see fit.

Royal Conservatory of Music Examinations are encouraged in the school and students are prepared for them upon discussion of the expectations with parents and teachers.  Grade VII practical and Grade I Rudiments enable students to receive a Grade 11 music credit and Grade VIII practical and Grade II Rudiments enable students to receive a Grade 12 music credit from the Ministry of Education.

Teachers at Whitby School of Music are enthusiastic and highly trained individuals who are interested in helping each student achieve their maximum potential.  Each year, they perform in a benefit concert to support local charities.  In the past, over $1000 was raised each year for children with cerebal palsy.
